Edgardo Muñoz has participated in more than 50 arbitration and international dispute resolution matters as arbitrator, counsel, tribunal secretary, tribunal assistant and appellate panel member.
His experience includes more than 15 appointments as arbitrator in commercial disputes, including eight appointments as sole arbitrator, five as presiding arbitrator, one as emergency arbitrator, and several appointments as co-arbitrator or party-appointed arbitrator.
He has served in institutional and ad hoc proceedings under the Rules of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the Centro de Arbitraje de México (CAM), the Comisión de Mediación y Arbitraje CANACO, the Centro de Arbitraje para la Industria de la Construcción, and UNCITRAL. He has conducted proceedings in English and Spanish involving seats and applicable laws in Mexico, the United States, Colombia and other jurisdictions.
His industry experience encompasses construction and infrastructure, energy, international sales, distribution and franchise arrangements, joint ventures, shareholder and share-purchase agreements, finance, trusts, intellectual property and sports.

From 2020 to 2024, Edgardo Muñoz served as a member of the Appeal Tribunal of the Gymnastics Ethics Foundation in Lausanne, Switzerland. He participated in six appeals, acting as Chair in four matters and as Co-Panelist in two.
His broader sports dispute resolution experience includes proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the American Arbitration Association, the disciplinary and appellate bodies of the International Gymnastics Federation, and other sports governing bodies.
Edgardo Muñoz has also acted as counsel in commercial, investment, intellectual property and sports disputes. His experience includes proceedings under the ICC, Swiss, UNCITRAL, WIPO, AAA and CAS frameworks, as well as matters before the Administrative Tribunal of the International Labour Organization.
Earlier in his career, while practising with Lenz & Staehelin in Geneva, he served as tribunal secretary or assistant in international arbitrations seated in Geneva, Paris, Madrid and Vienna involving international sales, energy, aviation, finance, distribution and M&A transactions.
